About DECA

DECA Explained

DECA is where students learn business by doing it. You do not need experience. All you need is curiosity and a willingness to practice.

Real situations. Practical skills.

Instead of only reading about marketing, finance, hospitality, entrepreneurship, and management, DECA asks you to think like a professional.

You might solve a customer problem, pitch a marketing idea, explain a financial decision, or design a new business plan. The goal is to practice, improve, and build confidence.

Competitive events

Choose how you compete.

01

Roleplay events

Receive a short business scenario, prepare your solution, and explain it to a judge acting as a manager, client, customer, or owner.

Best for quick thinking, confidence, and public speaking.

02

Written & project events

Prepare a business plan, campaign, startup idea, community project, or research solution before competition, then present it to judges.

Best for planning, writing, research, and creativity.

For beginners

Experience is not required.

Most students join with no background in business, finance, or marketing. You learn through practice, feedback, and repetition in a supportive environment.
